SUMMARY:Cell-Cell Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The inaugural Cell-Cell Symposium will unite researchers\, bioinformaticians\, and technology developers to explore cell interactions and communication at the single-cell level. This event offers a platform to discuss cutting-edge technologies aimed at bridging the gap between single-cell analysis of isolated cells and spatial biology\, which examines cells in tissues but struggles to resolve specific cell-cell interactions in their native context.

SUMMARY:Innovation Challenge: Live Pitches in Sustainability
DESCRIPTION:See the Latest Technological Innovations at UCLA and Learn from Expert Judges! \n\n\n\nThe Easton Technology Management Center’s annual Cross-Campus Innovation Challenge is a great example of the spirit of collective effort which is essential to success\, exemplifying an invaluable partnership between the Anderson school and the greater UCLA campus\, our many students\, faculty\, and alumni who are committed to innovation and advancements in sustainability\, healthcare\, and generative AI. This initiative brings together UCLA students from all disciplines and backgrounds to create new ventures that can drive a positive change in society. \nJoin our expert judges as our competition finalists showcase their groundbreaking innovations! \nThis is the first of three final pitch events\, focused on technological advancements in Sustainability that drive positive societal impact. \nOur natural environment provides everything we need for our survival and well-being – the air we breathe\, the water we drink\, and the food we eat. Despite our dependence on our natural environment\, we continue to exceed sustainable limits for greenhouse gases\, biodiversity loss\, pollution and waste and numerous critical resources. \nThe climate crisis has exacerbated the world’s sustainability challenges – from rising sea levels to increased wildfires\, rising temperatures\, poorer air quality\, water scarcity and food insecurity. At UCLA we view the climate crisis as an opportunity to make a difference and do things better. \nAs part of UCLA’s commitment to addressing the climate crisis and creating a more equitable and livable world for all Angelenos and beyond\, the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the UCLA Sustainable LA Grand Challenge are partnering to invite applications to UCLA’s Innovation Challenge for technological solutions (digital or otherwise) to the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges. \nIf we make the best use of all existing climate solutions\, the world can reach its point of equilibrium once again. We know that the society is well equipped for innovation and transformation today. Are you ready to be a part of the sustainability solution? \nFinalist Teams: \n\nAsearis\nHy-Hydrogen\nNexAI\nOpal AI\nProject Ginate\n\nAbout the Innovation Challenge \nWe believe the strongest solutions to complex problems come from a diversity of thought\, experiences and backgrounds. This initiative brings together UCLA students from all disciplines and backgrounds to collaborate on driving a positive change in society. \nTo learn more\, please visit: https://www.anderson.ucla.edu/innovation-challenge
