Whether you are an experienced angel investor, new to angel investing, or are just curious to learn more, we invite you to join Bruin Angels. We offer Angel Investor memberships, Educational memberships, or Startup memberships. Below describes each type of membership so that you can decide which is appropriate for you.
1.
If you’re an accredited investor, we encourage you to join us at the Angel Investor membership level. When you join, you get access to our curated deal flow pipeline, invites to our angel-only events, and all the benefits that our educational members get. To learn more about what it means to be an accredited investor, please check this information page on the SEC site.
2.
If you’re not an accredited investor, we still encourage you to join Bruin Angels. Our Educational Members are not able to invest in startups, but get access to our educational events and practice sessions to learn what it takes to be an angel investor so you’re ready to hit the ground running once you become accredited. You can also network with other members at our general membership events.
3.
For startup founders who want full access to our programs, a pair of co-founders can join as a Startup Member. If the founders are SEC accredited investors, they can access the full slate of events our Angel Investor members have access to.
Membership Minimum Donations:
Educational Only – $700 a year
Angel Investor – $1,200 a year
Startup – $1,500 a year
As a network of the UCLA Alumni Association, Bruin Angels donations can be tax-deductible if given to the Bruin Angels Support Fund, but consult your tax professional for full details. Our suggested donation is based on our projected operational expenses and membership base. We welcome members who support our mission to donate any amount they would like in addition to the suggested annual amounts. Donated funds pay for our staff and programming.
We also suggest a minimum annual investment into companies rather than require to preserve the investment discretion of our members. We understand that economic conditions and a number of other factors can impact the quantity or quality of investment opportunities in a given year. During a good year, many of our members will invest more than $10,000.
